What I found difficult when organising this competition is the prize. Since the website does not render much profit but renders many visitors, I tried to look for sponsors to sponsor the contest’s prize, but they ignored me. Could be that they thought it was a scam. Nowadays we find many people and websites ready to trick us, so I don’t blame them 100% for ignoring me.
After seeing that I had no reply from my potential sponsors, I thought of taking the “risk” of investing in the prize myself… but what can I offer?
Since inmalta.mobi is a website designed originally for mobile devices, I thought it would be great to give an iTunes gift certificate (no I am not a big Apple fan… Android do not currently offer gift certificates), so that the winner can buy and download apps and/or music on his/her iPhone or iPod. I have found pages on the iTunes website that talk about Gift Certificates but I did not find the link to buy Gift Certificates from my iTunes Store… what else can I offer?
Then I went through websites from where I buy stuff which are not only for girls, and found out that ASOS sells Gift Vouchers that are sent by email. That’s when I’ve decided to offer a £10 ASOS Gift Voucher as the prize for the twitter contest.
This month I was going to place my second order on ASOS which totals up to approx £70, but I think I will “sacrifice” £10 of my order to the contest. After all, currently I am not really in need of buying all those dresses.
